Banner is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system made by Ellucian, that supports the University’s varied processes, academics, enrollment management, finance, administration, human resources, financial aid, advancement, and alumni.

Please note that all information within Banner is secured and confidential. Access to information is based on your role and relationship to UNCG (student, faculty, staff, alumni, affiliate).

BANNER SELF-SERVICE (GENIE)

UNCG’s implementation of Self-Service Banner (SSB) is commonly called Genie or UNCGenie. UNCGenie is accessible from everywhere (public internet, on-campus, etc.).

Genie provides services aligned with institutional activities, including:

• General Self-Service (Personal Information)
• Employee & Payroll Self-Service
• Financial Aid Self-Service
• Faculty & Advising Self-Service
• Finance & Budget Self-Service
• Student & Registration Self-Service

BANNER ADMIN PAGES (BANNER FORMS)

Administrative functions are performed through Banner Admin Pages, sometimes referred to as “Banner Forms.” Admin Pages are only accessible to specific networks, to help protect sensitive University data. 

ELIGIBILITY

• UNCG current students, faculty, and staff can access Self-Service Banner using iSpartan credentials.
• UNCG faculty and staff, with appropriate access permissions based on their role, can access Admin Pages.
• Former Employees and Students may log in to Genie with ID & PIN, however this functionality is being deprecated.
  • Alternate options are being developed to meet the needs of people who currently rely solely on ID/PIN for Banner services.

ACCESS

• Genie can be accessed via go.uncg.edu/genie.
• Admin Pages can be accessed via MyCloud.
• Log in to the applications with your UNCG credentials (or ID/PIN until deprecated).
• Use the "Card" links or the 4-Square menu in the top-right corner. Both options are pictured below.

BANNER VERSIONS & LINKS

• UNCG currently runs Banner Self-Service 9, however some Version 8 options are still available.
• Links that are suffixed with "8.x" reference a service that is part of an older version of Banner (SSB8).
  • 8.x services will be replaced as UNCG develops alternative solutions or Ellucian provides an equivalent option in version 9.
